Styling: Confirmation action button
Users don't immediately realize that they need to confirm their selection / actions on the different screens every time they do changes (explicit example: upload file), they assume that when they're done the task has also been completed. This is really not the problem, because I guess this is part of the learning curve of the system.
But most of the buttons look very similar: they are mostly gray. Not only the buttons but also other info elements as for instance the start and end time of a file. I know this might sound as if I was contradicting the other issue I wrote about consistency, but I feel these "approval" or primary buttons (? - I don't know how to call them) have a different purpose and need to look differently. As the cancel button also does.
This makes all buttons and non buttons appear not so relevant or equally relevant, except for the cancel button which is red. The issue is that most of the users take a while / or also miss the action button that confirms that you are done doing changes. Our thought was, maybe style them differently? Have them have a green, dark gray or other color as a background? One of the users also said that she didn't click on Add because it didn't seem the appropriate action she wanted to take. She was expecting more of an "Upload" button instead of add..
What are your thoughts on this? Also this is really not urgent, but maybe cool to keep in mind for next year at some point.
