Timeline Viewer: Visualise overlapping / synced videos on the Timeline
Since it is required that users can sync videos on the Timeline (#1063 (closed)), it would be necessary to somehow make that visible in the Timeline Viewer.
This will probably require us to visualise the start and end time (duration) of videos on the Timeline (e.g. by introducing literal time-lines for the videos on the timeline).
We do not only need this because we want to synchronise videos on the Timeline. At the moment the Timeline Viewer is just a "list" of videos. This does not really help to understand what a Timeline is and why you need it (what's it value for the users).
To avoid getting stuck in some visualisation questions and details around the time-lines (recording gaps etc.), I suggest to first implement a rough segmentation of the Timeline similar to this sketch:
Within these date-segments we would need to make visible that there are two or more videos with different durations and sometimes with overlaps (an almost complete overlap when they are synced and have more or less the same duration).
You then should be able to select one of these video to annotate them.
I do not really have an idea how the overlapping videos could be displayed (next to each other seems difficult for mobile devices). I think @jean.boehm2 an @christian.hansen, you already had some good ideas (see Figma). But the challenge is to keep it as simple as possible at the moment, so we can implement something soon that one can understand and then improve it later.
