It works as before but I think there is a lot of potential to make the code more simple. There is also a lot of code which we are not using at the moment. This should be checked again as soon as we extend the TImeline-viewer.Feature: Timeline Viewerhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/1140Creativity feature: (randomly) rearrange order of annotations on Timeline (Ti...2021-11-25T11:35:46+01:00Rittershaus, DavidCreativity feature: (randomly) rearrange order of annotations on Timeline (Timeline as movement score)I think this makes only sense if he offer the possibility to hide the whole temporal structure of the Timeline (#1138) so it becomes more or less a sequence of annotations.

However, a mix of the feature in #1067 and a "random order button" could fulfill a frequent feature request for creative work, e.g. to get video clips sorted in a different order, so you can draw inspiration from that new sequential order or to try out different orders without the need of video editing. This could turn the Timeline into movement score.
It would be very important to make it not a too prominent feature (which you can "accidentally try out") and there should be warnings (plural!) that this will mess up your Timeline and annotated videos in case you already used the Timeline structure your content and to annotate videos.
This was actually again a feature request at HZT in Berlin.Feature: Timeline Viewerhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/1139Add additional sharing option for Timelines (publication)?2021-11-25T11:25:01+01:00Rittershaus, DavidAdd additional sharing option for Timelines (publication)? In case we want to replace MoSys-Grids with some sort of "Timeline-Publication" (#843), it would be great to have additional sharing options.

I would simply call it "publication" or "publish timeline". This does not mean that it has to become a website, it can still be internal (maybe with two options: share with everyone in your "network"/instance or share with a group).
Publications could show up as a new category on the projects page.
The option to hide the "temporal structure" of the timeline (#1138) in order to turn the content more into an article would be good.
It would be an important feature to apply different filters before you share your Timeline-Publication (e.g. only annotations by specific creators, only annotations with a specific tag etc.)Feature: Timeline Viewerhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/1138Timeline Viewer: add option to hide temporal structure (graph/dates/time)2021-11-25T11:35:47+01:00Rittershaus, DavidTimeline Viewer: add option to hide temporal structure (graph/dates/time)I think this linear, chronological, temporal structure is something which you should be able to "hide" in case that is not relevant for your project or if you think that it structures your content in a too specific way. All annotations on the Timeline would then be simply displayed sequential (still chronological, in the order you added the annotations to the Timeline, but without too much temporal structuring). This would also include hiding the start and end date of annotations on the Timeline.
This could also be relevant if we want to replace MoSys-Grids with "Timeline"-Publications (#843). By disabling the "temporal" elements, it could turn the Timeline more into something like an article.Feature: Timeline Viewerhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/1135Expand timeline graph and add zoom levels2022-02-17T11:36:49+01:00Rittershaus, DavidExpand timeline graph and add zoom levelsThe timeline graph should make it possible to better understand the temporal structure of the timeline to grasp what is located where on the timeline (visualise annotations). It should also help to navigate through the timeline, so if you for example click on an annotation-dot (or similar) in the graph, you will jump to the corresponding moment in the timeline.
Basically a vertical swimlane for the whole timeline, visualising all annotations on the timeline (which are visible in the Timeline Viewer) and indicating where annoations overlap with a video on the timeline and thus will be displayed in the Post-Annotator.
The graph should also be the basis for zooming in and out on the timeline (loading only parts of the timeline). We should keep in mind that people won't start with a very long timeline with many annotations but mostly only with 2-3 videos added over a period of 2 days. The graph and zoom-level should be thought of as growing with a project (and quite some timelines won't grow a lot but will only contain a few videos, maybe also only for one day).Feature: Timeline Viewerhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/1134Add "headlines" to Timeline2021-11-25T10:46:04+01:00Rittershaus, DavidAdd "headlines" to TimelineIt would be great if we find a way you can add "headlines" or "subheadings" to your Timeline. Would make it possible to add something like "rehearsal phase 2" to your Timeline. Ideally these headings would be accessible in a "table of contents" which could make it easier to go back to specific moments that you "bookmarked".
I know that we would have to solve this using annotations (which e.g. get a specific tag or something like that and are displayed differently).
Priority is not super high but would be a great feature and cover some feature requests we collected over the last years.Feature: Timeline Viewerhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/1133Add possibility to add text annotations to Timeline in Timeline Viewer (witho...2021-11-25T10:40:16+01:00Rittershaus, DavidAdd possibility to add text annotations to Timeline in Timeline Viewer (without Live- or Post-Annotator)I think there should be an option to add text "comments" to the Timeline independent of a video and without diving into the concept of Live-Annotation. The annotation-stream is used in the live-annotator, post-annotator, timeline-viewer and in the CommentThread of each annotationItem
**1. Approach:**
1. Load Annotations from API
2. Keep them in an Array and display the annotations in the frontend
3. If a new Annotation is submitted use the submit response and add it to the Array. (Front-End Update)
4. If an Annotation is deleted check the response and remove the annotation from the Array by filtering. (Front-End Update)
**2. Approach**
1. Load Annotations from API
2. Use the Array to display them in the frontend
3. If a new Annotation is submitted, dumb the old array and reload the annotations from the API. (Front-End Update)
4. If an Annotation is deleted, dumb the old array and reload the annotations from the API. (Front-End Update)
_Pros / Cons_
1. Approach
- PRO: Less API Calls. After the first API Call only submit or delete API calls are emitted.
- CON: If there is any Error in the Backend, which is not handled in the frontend, the backend and the frontend may have different data until the next reload.
2. Apporach
- PRO: The frontend always displays the data from the backend
- CON: More API calls. All annotations are reloaded if anything changes.
Everything will change when we start using websockets.

I have only noticed with the current version that it is not really understandable at the moment that the video on the timeline has a duration and the subsequent annotations overlap with this duration, i.e. they refer to the same time and thus to the video. This depends a bit on how the Timeline-Viewer will be developed further (e.g. how annotations referring to a video are displayed vs. "free" annotations etc.).
