This often results in an overlap of two unrelated videos when the current time and date are used. For many users this is confusing and it often requires a deeper explanation of the concept of Timelines. While this might be easier to understand as soon as the Timeline Viewer will show where the videos overlap etc., I wonder if we can help users to avoid an unintended overlap of videos (which usually means that unrelated videos share the same annotations and now this has also the consequence that the second or third video that is added in sequence shows up as an annotation of the previous video itself in the post-annotator).
At the moment you are able to either set a date and time manually or to use the current date and time when you add an asset to the timeline. Would it be possible to offer "Add asset after previous" and to use the end time (+ 1f) of the previous asset on the Timeline?3.0.0-beta ReleaseHansen, ChristianHansen, Christianhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/935Duration of annotations: end time can't be located before start time2021-11-25T09:14:01+01:00Rittershaus, DavidDuration of annotations: end time can't be located before start time![Bildschirmfoto_2021-10-25_um_12.55.12](/uploads/c62a63334bb27a53f0d0b7a15d8b9306/Bildschirmfoto_2021-10-25_um_12.55.12.png)

I'm thinking specifically of timelines that contain a lot (like the documentation of the Effect process). To get to the last video you added, you probably don't want to scroll through 20 days of footage and hundreds of annotations.3.0.0-beta Releasehttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/871Timeline Viewer: visually distinguish annotations that refer to video2021-11-25T09:22:22+01:00Rittershaus, DavidTimeline Viewer: visually distinguish annotations that refer to videoI know that the Timeline Viewer is so far only a rudimentary version of what you want to implement. I have only noticed with the current version that it is not really understandable at the moment that the video on the timeline has a duration and the subsequent annotations overlap with this duration, i.e. they refer to the same time and thus to the video. But if it's about what's going to be addressed next, I think that would be extremely helpful (for the beta).Feature: Timeline Viewerhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/842Assets: offer possibility to immediatley annotate a video?2021-11-25T09:24:03+01:00Rittershaus, DavidAssets: offer possibility to immediatley annotate a video?Would be great to offer users an immediate way to start annotating.

Two paths suggested:
1. Add asset --> after upload users are always asked if they immediatley want to add the video to a timeline and start annotating. If "yes" is selected, user is asked if s/he wants to create a new timeline or add the video to an existing timeline. After the timeline is selected (or created), the video is added and the user automatically ends up in the post-annotator.
2. More options icon / kebab menu of video assets offers the option "annotate". If the video is already on a timeline the user is asked if s/he wants to annotate the video on the linked timeline(s) (--> select timeline if it is linked to more than one timeline) or if s/he wants to add the video to another or a new timeline. In case the video is not linked to a timeline yet, s/he is immediatley asked to either add it to an existing timeline or to create a new one. In any case, after the selection process, the user ends up in the post-annotator with the video "loaded".
For both paths it would be possible to ask the user if s/he wants to collaborate right before s/he is redirected to the post-annotator (after timeline is selected or created). If no --> immediatley redirected to post-annotator. If yes --> user is guided through the steps for sharing the timline.
Sidenote: If a user adds a video in the Timeline-Viewer s/he should also be asked if s/he wants to annotate the video s/he just added. In this case it's anyway a bit simpler because the video is already linked to a timeline. The user can be immediatley redirected to the post-annotator.Usability UX Improvementshttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/841Timeline Viewer: "Add Asset" should still allow to embed a video from YouTube...2021-11-25T09:24:27+01:00Rittershaus, DavidTimeline Viewer: "Add Asset" should still allow to embed a video from YouTube or VimeoMaybe the same applies to the annotation input field (where you can add assets) both in live and post annotator.Maybe the same applies to the annotation input field (where you can add assets) both in live and post annotator.Feature: Timeline Viewerhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/840Redesign AnnotationInput field2021-10-20T18:23:53+02:00Rittershaus, DavidRedesign AnnotationInput fieldPersonally, I think it's too close to a chat-icon and specifically reminds me of Telegram. I have serious concerns about this because I don't think it would be good if the users were driven too much in a certain way of writing and, in this case, into a "messenger logic". This can have a big impact on the way annotations are made.
I find that already the additional icons for voice input etc. are difficult in that respect, but the send button affects it the most.3.0.0-beta ReleaseBöhm, JeanBöhm, Jeanhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/804Add possibility to comment on annotations2021-09-30T19:28:03+02:00Rittershaus, DavidAdd possibility to comment on annotationsMentioned it recently and has been one of the main feature requests since we started working in teaching contexts with CODARTS in 2018. The comments of others can influence the perception very strongly. Therefore, when working collaboratively, it would be especially important to be able to quickly and easily show and hide the annotations of (all) others. Filtering by specific users is of course also nice and surely already added to the general wish list by some other issue.
I think especially hiding all other annotations will definitely be very important for #vortanz as well.Hansen, ChristianHansen, Christianhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/506Piecemaker Recorder clips' selectors break after media/edit2020-09-13T14:11:52+02:00Koch, AntonPiecemaker Recorder clips' selectors break after media/editKoch, AntonKoch, Antonhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/505Media with 40x on resource URL can't be edited2020-09-13T13:58:42+02:00Koch, AntonMedia with 40x on resource URL can't be editedKoch, AntonKoch, Antonhttps://gitlab.rlp.net/motionbank/applications/systems-frontend/-/issues/498live annotation, mosys, "no annotations yet"2021-01-09T09:32:03+01:00Jenett, Florianlive annotation, mosys, "no annotations yet"From the team in Canada, Michael English
